NORTHERN VIRGINIA – Commercial Window Shield has been hired by CK Commercial for a solar control window film installation project for a high-security tenant.
CK Commercial, based in Millersville, Md., will be building out two floors of a building for their client. As a security measure, included in the buildout project will be the construction of an inside wall around the perimeter of each floor in front of the windows.
Commercial Window Shield will be installing solar control film on the windows to prevent heat buildup between the glass and the newly built walls. The film also will block the unsightly view of the two walls from the exterior.
Commercial Window Shield will begin installing the solar control window film on Feb. 26. Installers will face a tight deadline as construction of the wall will commence as soon as the solar control window film installation project is completed.
In total, Commercial Window Shield will be installing 14,000 sq. ft. of solar control film on 848 panes of glass.
Although this is Commercial Window Shield’s first project with CK Commercial, it has completed numerous projects for some of the country’s top general contractors, including Harvey-Cleary, HITT, DAVIS, Gilbane Building Co., Rand Construction, D Watts Construction, DPR Construction and May Construction.
In addition to the installation of solar control window film, Commercial Window Shield has also completed hundreds of security, RF, switchable smart, privacy/decorative and anti-bird strike window film projects nationwide.
In its more than 40 years in business, the company’s clients have included the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, the Pentagon, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, the United Nations, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare and Seattle international airports, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
